We need to do a little detective work to see if the volume is still under any copyright laws and or try to contact a relative. Two other sources would be member Joe Myles and or MERCATOR Chapter, USCS.LudoJanssens

If you have not noticed, our sales on eBay are tax tree to the USCS. We are registered as a non-profit with 100% of our sales going to the USCS. So, bid away and support YOUR society. Recently a large donation of patches and ship event programs by Joe Myles  have been listed: seller is salescirc1 Thanks.

Our limits have been raised greatly, so many more covers, programs and patches can be listed each month. Don’t forget to visit eBay and look for seller salsecirc1 Scan0014

Many interesting ship event programs and ship jacket patches have been uploaded by seller salescirc1. One is a USS NAUTILUS SSN 571Scan0009 launch program. Take a look on eBay.

I have been assisting Stew with the sale of this donation. I am listing both Navy ship patches and programs from the  large donation. Check out seller salescirc1 and bid. Our limitations on how many items we can list has been greatly increased by eBay. Check out the covers, patches and programs.

John Macco. I think we need some advise on this publication. Perhaps a member in Belgium could track down an Obit for Ludo and see if a family member could be found. They might be able to give us permission to distribute the catalog. There are probably a hundred entries necessary to update his work. He did sell copies of his work and I think it barely covered his costs and postage. There are 112 numbered pages. Most do not have any illustrations.Scan0026

I found my copy of the Ludo Janssens booklet on Tazewell Gatling Nicholson (Yes, that Gatling). It has no information on when it was printed, if it is copyright or who the publisher is. About ten years ago Ludo stopped answering emails. I was sending him covers I located that were not in his catalog. The first printed page after the cover is the preface.

There was a booklet published by the late USCS member Ludo Jenssens covering most of the covers done by Taze after his passing. It is a gem! Since its publication many new discoveries have been compiled and I keep that list with my booklet. I have no idea where a copy might be found. And at the moment my copy won’t surface for me.

Limits on the number of items we can list on the new eBay seller site has limited the number of items we can put up each month. At present we can only list 30 items a month. I will be listing the program collection of Joe Myles. I have hundreds of programs ready to list, but it may be awhile before the eBay gods allow us a sufficient number to put up before I start to list programs. I have some ideas to save bidders money. I will do my best to combine multiple items you win, charging actual postage. With some programs Priority Mail flat postage will be beneficial for multiple wins. The other option will be media mail. Hopefully our numbers we are allowed by eBay will increase quickly. On my personal eBay selling site I can upload 250 items a month with no fee and thousands if I want to but a fee for the listing will be charged.

One of my favorite collecting categories in the U S Coast Guard. A news release about the USCGC EAGLE visiting Portland MA to celebrate Mains 200th Anniversary, which took place in 2020. Apparently COVID delayed the visit which was accomplished in 2021.Scan0123

I saw this on a cover that someone else received. It is somewhat different as it mentions “BLUE” in the cancel. I suspect that refers to the crew that is using the marking. But, keep in mind that none of the LCS vessels have a post office aboard. Better send for it before it beams up. I added the

    cachet.
